Economic and Financial Literacy

Financial and Economic literacy is about understanding how to earn, spend, and manage money. We realize that every individual's role in promoting society's welfare remains crucial, and thus the raison d'etre of our entrepreneurial venture, Socrise.

Our Approach

Aside from being pertinent to financial stability and economic development, financial literacy is an essential life skill, enabling every individual to participate in society. Socrise’s primary goal is to equip marginalized communities with the knowledge necessary to manage their financial resources effectively, in a practical but piecemeal manner, such as knowledge of how to maintain a bank account and budget. Therefore, the emphasis remains on practical knowledge.

Our interests include helping learners develop an in-depth understanding of core financial concepts through easy access to resources and establishing a "lens," based on the disciplines of economics and finance. This way, learners will be better able to evaluate financial situations as this lens will empower them. Consequently, they will be able to see their financial situation in a new light and have a greater chance of making well-reasoned financial decisions.

Research reveals that elevating literacy levels can be vital in empowering society to attain better living conditions. Socrise, a not-for-profit organization, relies on these data-driven insights and remains dedicated to improving underserved communities’ Economic and Financial literacy; with a focus on Dubai’s blue-collared workers to make smart financial decisions.

We have compiled a simplistic platform to help reach out to the oft- ignored segments of society as they struggle immensely due to a lack of adequate access to resources.

Economics: An economics-based comic series

Developing knowledge and understanding of Economics through a unique platform was our ultimate aim – the vibrant illustrations and comic-book-format have already garnered immense appreciation of the subject and fundamental economic concepts. The comics are in English and Hindi, enabling ease of understanding for the labor community and anyone interested in learning fundamental economic concepts.

A Savings Calculator to aid low-income individuals plan their savings efficiently – enables them to understand saving strategies within a prescribed timeframe and being cognizant of their daily expenses. The Application, developed in several languages - Hindi, Nepali, and Tagalog - allows users from different regions to easily navigate the App.

In addition, these companies run labor camp drives and appreciate our efforts to add to their philanthropic causes and further our social cause.
